I have an American Security safe and the lock has died with the safe closed and locked. They sent me a new lock but I can’t open the safe to change the lock. How can I get the safe open to be able to change the lock?
You may be able to connect the new keypad in-place of the old keypad (remove the old and plug in the new and cross your fingers) and get the safe to open (the code, etc. should be stored on the internal parts, not the keypad) – assuming the keypad is what is broken. If the locking mechanism is actually damaged, you’ll need to either contact AmSec and see if they have suggestions or call a locksmith to see about drilling the safe.
